Tacara: The purpose of CLAS standards, also known as Culturally and Linguistically Appropriate Service Standards, is to advance excellent care for patients from a variety of racial, social, and cultural backgrounds. By developing a leadership model focused on health, the standards hope to eradicate, advance and improve health care disparities. By conveying patients’ requirements, practitioners employ CLAS standards as a governance principle to advance the workforce.
