332-1AO75 Learning and Memory

Prompt: Read Chapter 2: Science and Christianity: The Conflict Thesis (Sickler text). Write a reflection paper on a section of the chapter that addresses the following questions: What ideas stood out to you? Why? Were they new or in opposition to your current views on the topic? What do you already know about the topic? Where did your existing knowledge come from? What are observations or experiences that shaped your understanding of the topic? Do you agree or disagree with the author’s argument? Why? How does this chapter challenge your existing ideas or assumptions? How does this chapter help you better understand a Christian application of cognitive psychology?
Requirements: Minimum of 250 words; APA format

5-1 self devolvement

PurposeThis assignment is intended to help you learn to actively reflect on your career and self-development needs, and develop a plan to actualize them.
Action ItemsWatch Personal Development Plan for Motivation.Links to an external site.
Download the Free PDP Example Template from High Speed Training.Links to an external site.
Using the best information that you have available to you now, including the results of 4-4: Career Exploration, complete the template for yourself. Keep the filled-out document in a place where you can refer to it again.
As a result of the careful analysis of your completed template, write a 5- to 6-page paper on your answers to the following:What was difficult about doing this?
What did you learn about yourself in the process?
What did you learn about what you value in a career?
What does it say to you concerning your readiness to go to the next developmental step?
What primary personal development-related goal do goal do you want to achieve in the next three months?
How will you know if you have achieved this goal?

Correlational Lab report (Psychology)

This assignment aims to teach you to write a lab report in APA format. This study is non-experimental and correlational. Use the resources in the APA module and anatomy of a lab report, and see the rubric for guidance.
Directions
This week you will write a lab report based on the data you collected for your correlational project.
Collect the data with your group and write the report individually.
Download Anatomy of a lab report for instructions.
This is a group project so we collected all the data. The variables are age and satisfaction with life

Reflection on Behavioral therapy/theory

Apa format
a. Discuss your observations about the foundational principles supporting this theory. Choose one or more of the identified principles and speak about how they do or don’t ‘connect’ or make ‘fit’ for you. (e.g. I appreciate that there are ‘patterns’ – or ways of responding or being in relationship that tend to repeat. I think people can get stuck and need therapy to help them get unstuck)

b. Discuss the theory of psychopathology – why people get sick – reflect and note what you think about that and feel free to disagree (e.g. I don’t believe that all our relationship and other problems can be traced back to childhood experiences as the psychodynamic theorists propose, I think a focus on the future makes more sense than a focus on the past, especially as I think about work with children….)

c Discuss your thoughts about the therapeutic process from this perspective – including discussion of one or more elements of practice described in your text. (e.g. I don’t like the way a psychodynamic therapist ‘interprets’ everything like a complete expert – as if the client doesn’t know anything. As a counselor I hope to trust my clients to be partners as we work to make their life more the way they want it.)

Final project draft

The draft should be at least 5 pages, or one-half the length of the Final Paper. It should consist of fully developed topic sentences. It should also include a list of at least 10 references. These references should be original sources, not course material. References must also be in APA format. (Be sure to incorporate Instructor feedback into your Final Paper.)
attached below is my outline with my references listed

Chapter 6 review

DO NOT PLAGIARIZE AND DO NOT USE OUTSIDE SOURCES. DO NOT CITE ANYTHING.USE OWN WORDS.
Chapter 6 Review
Chapter 6 Learning Goals (keep the following questions in mind as you read chapter two)
Give examples of how question-wording can change the results of a survey or poll.
Describe the different ways questions can be worded: open-ended, forced-choice, and using rating scales.
Explain how to increase the construct validity of questions by wording them carefully and by avoiding leading questions, double-barreled questions, and double negatives.
Explain how question order can change the meaning (and validity) of a question.
Explain ways to increase the construct validity of questions by preventing respondent shortcuts (such as yea-saying), biases (such as trying to look good), or simple inability to report.
Describe how observational techniques for measurement are different from survey techniques.
Explain ways to improve the construct validity of observations by reducing observer bias, observer effects, and target reactivity.
Directions
DO NOT PLAGIARIZE!
Use the chapter reviews to help guide you through the reading. As you read, stop to paraphrase the definition of each of the following key terms.
After you are done reading, answer the five review questions below.
Feel free to type your information in the Word document and upload it.
Make sure to rename it and save it to a flash drive, hard drive, or Google documents, so you do not lose the information.

Review Questions
Describe some of the pitfalls in question writing for surveys.
Consider the various survey question formats: open-ended, forced choice, Likert, and semantic differential. For each of the following research, topics write a question in each format, keeping in mind some of the pitfalls in question writing. A study that measures attitudes about women serving in combat roles in the military.
A customer service survey asking people about their satisfaction with their most recent shopping experience.
A poll that asks people which political party they have supported in the past.

What is a coding system? What are some important considerations when developing a coding system?

The Chapter Analysis Project

The description I posted is exactly the teachers words so if you follow the details everything should turn out good! Minimum 6 sentences per question, detailed answers with information from the textbook (which I attached), no plagiarism because the teacher uses an application that checks for plagiarism, and no quoting! Let me know if you have any further questions:)

Discussion: Empiricism and Rationalism (philosophy 101) due oct 23 11pm

Before moving on to Kant’s resolution of the Rationalism-Empiricism debate, it is important to take stock of what we’ve covered thus far, which we’ll address in this Discussion Board.
Now that you have an understanding of Rationalism and Empiricism, and have studied Descartes’ Meditations as well as David Hume’s empiricism (which leads to skepticism, for Hume), you are well situated to apply what you’ve learned about theories of knowledge acquisition to your own experience in the world.
For this Discussion Board, you will post a thread that considers the merits of both Rationalism and Empiricism, before stating which theory (empiricism or rationalism) you are more inclined to agree with.
As you prepare your post, consider the following questions:
1. Is there anything you know with absolute certainty? If so, what is it, and how did you acquire knowledge of it?
2. Generally speaking, how do you acquire reliable knowledge about the world (through your reason and intuition, or through your sense experience)?
As you think about these questions, really try to challenge yourself. One way of doing this is by thinking about some of the more “abstract” knowledge you have, such as knowledge of you “self” as a substance that persists through time. How do you know you are a “self” and not just a mind plugged into a computer program?
NOTE: Be sure to include what you’ve learned thus far in this module. Students should demonstrate an understanding of the differences between the competing positions, as well as demonstrate an ability to logically evaluate the competing positions.
(Please note: students must first create a thread in order to view other threads in this forum. Only after your post will you be able to post your comment to another student’s thread.)
CCO #3: Logically evaluate a philosophical argument or position
CCO #12: Describe varied conceptions of human nature that are implied by different philosophical theories
