After you have read Chapters 14, 15, and 16, and the outside assigned readings, locate five (5) additional journal articles that have been published within the last five calendar years. Locate articles that discuss the pros and cons of community policing and military-style policing as those both pertain to homeland security. (Most experts agree community policing works well in other areas.) Support your argument with examples. Take notes from your review, and from those notes develop a position paper that supports either community policing or militarizing of the police when homeland security issues are at stake. Make certain to justify your position with facts and references from your article review notes.
