How is buisness used in modern life ?

In ‘The Role of Business in the Modern World’, Professor David Henderson argues that now, as in the past, the primary role of business is to act as a vehicle for economic progress. This role depends upon business enterprises operating with the framework of a competitive market economy. If we ask businesses to achieve broader social goals, we risk undermining the very system in which business activity leads to opportunity and prosperity.Professor Henderson describes the unprecedented material progress that has occurred in the last century as a result of the wide-ranging entrepreneurial opportunities and competitive pressures that exist within a market economy. The material prosperity created by the activities of business is threatened by the ‘global salvationist consensus’ that has arisen in recent years and which seeks to change the role of business via the doctrine of corporate social responsibility. Professor Henderson shows that this consensus is based upon a set of fallacious beliefs about the nature of capitalism, profiteering and business enterprise.
together and organizing land, labor, and capital.
What are the role of business in society and the economy? As with the opening sentence, the role of business is vital to our society and economy. Businesses don’t just satisfy our needs and wants through the products they produce. But, they also create jobs and income in the economy. In addition, competition between them encourages innovation and efficiency, making goods and services cheaper and of higher quality.
Satisfying our needs and wants
Businesses sell goods and services to satisfy our needs and desires for profit. So, without them, we would have to produce everything ourselves, including our food and clothes.
Then, businesses also have to compete with each other. To keep the money flowing, they must deliver higher satisfaction than competitors do. Competition forces them to be more efficient and innovative, leading to lower prices and better quality.

Critical thinking week 8 – title Organisation culture

Read the case study “Travel Solutions” at the end of Chapter 7 of your textbook, follow the following directions and then respond to the case study questions
A case study is a puzzle to be solved, so before reading and answering the specific questions, develop your proposed solution by following these five steps:
Read the case study to identify the key issues and underlying issues. These issues are the principles and concepts of the course module, which apply to the situation described in the case study.
Record the facts from the case study which are relevant to the principles and concepts of the module. The case may have extraneous information not relevant to the current module. Your ability to differentiate between relevant and irrelevant information is an important aspect of case analysis, as it will inform the focus of your answers.
Describe in some detail the actions that would address or correct the situation.
Consider how you would support your solution with examples from experience or current real-life examples or cases from textbooks.
Complete this initial analysis and then read the discussion questions. Typically, you will already have the answers to the questions but with a broader consideration. At this point, you can add the details and/or analytical tools required to solve the case.
Case Study Questions:
What is your assessment of the situation at Travelink at the end of the case? What are the underlying problems in the organization?
If you found yourself in Will or Robert’s situation, what would you do? Why?
If Will and Robert both decide to stay and try to advance needed changes, what changes would you recommend they focus on and how would you recommend they go about it? Would you, for example, share Will’s documentation of the problems within the company? Why or why not?
Have you ever been in a situation where you were a recipient of change and things went poorly? How did it affect you and others in the organization?
Your well-written paper should meet the following requirements:
Be 4-5 pages in length, which does not include the title and reference pages, which are never a part of the content minimum requirements.
Use Saudi Electronic University academic writing standards and APA style guidelines.
Support your submission with course material concepts, principles, and theories from the textbook and at least three scholarly, peer-reviewed journal articles.
It is strongly encouraged that you submit all assignments into the Turnitin Originality Check prior to submitting it to your instructor for grading. If you are unsure how to submit an assignment into the Originality Check tool, review the Turnitin Originality Check – Student Guide for step-by-step instructions.
Review the grading rubric to see how you will be graded for this assignment.

Discussion management accounting perspective

Costs are unique and may be customizable to the organization or industry such as described above. Managerial accounting is concerned with providing information to managers within the organization about costs. Managers expect to know what is included in direct materials, direct labor, and manufacturing overhead. They also expect to know what constitutes product costs and variable costs. The costs of production are substantial and it is incumbent on managers to understand what constitutes their costs.
Choose a manufacturer of a product. Research the company’s costs policies and practices to identify what constitutes direct costs of materials, product costs, variable costs, fixed costs, manufacturing costs, non-manufacturing costs, etc. You may have to research multiple sites to find this information – even the company’s full annual report. Tell the ‘cost story’ of your company with use of graphics or other visualizations. Provide sufficient narrative to explain the story of costs at your company. Include graphics or visualizations to support explanation of cost terms (if available
