You will be asked to choose an interesting, debatable topic from chapters 1-5 that you would like to learn more about. Make sure you do some background research, and then find at least two journal articles that provide more insight into that topic. You may also reference information from national organizations that focus on child development (American Academy of Pediatrics, UNICEF, etc.) and your textbook. The following are examples of some topics that have been debated in recent times:
Vaccinations
Breastfeeding
Circumcision
Montessori education
African American pregnancy care and mortality
Gender-neutral parenting
Piaget’s stages of cognitive development
REMEMBERReflections are brief papers (totaling no more than 3 double-spaced pages *plus the reference page, 12- point, times new roman, one-inch margins) highlighting the specific question or set of questions with regard to the life span, using your investigative skills, research, and discussion of the significance and implications for the study of the psychological experiences of people. Please include a reference page with the appropriate citations using APA guidelines and must be submitted as Word (.doc; .docx) or rich text (.rtf) files in Blackboard by 11:59 pm on the due date indicated on the course schedule. Other files will not be accepted and will be given a grade of zero (0)
