ase study on Depression
Clinical case
Mrs. Z is a twenty-eight-year-old lady who reports an inability to cope with break-ups. She suffers from prolonged sadness after a one-month break-up. She also cites other symptoms, including fatigue, oversleeping, difficulty waking up, concentrating, and walking. She feels guilty for the relationship failure and does not feel the need to interact. However, she has no suicidal thoughts, changes in appetite and brightens up when she talks about a friend and nephew.
Diagnoses
Primary Diagnosis
After Mrs. Z has described her mood (sadness) and how it has affected her life (both occupational and social life), we then carry out a two-part questionnaire to identify the possibility of depression. In this questionnaire, these questions are posed;
Have you become bothered by feeling hopeless, depressed, and down in the past month?
Have you been bothered by the little pleasure and interest in doing things?
Based on the positive affirmation, we proceed to the secondary diagnosis.
