Regina Knox:
After graduating from the doctoral program, I still plan on working as a licensed therapist. However, I want to be able to work in a clinical supervisor role so that I can help teach the new generation of therapists entering the field. I do not think there is much room in my program for specialization other than learning how to supervise others. I start my first practicum in February in my program, which I will be able to do at the behavioral hospital I work in, just in a different department. I am really excited about that experience. The biggest concern I see coming in my doctoral journey is my residency requirements. I know that the residency is not long, but I have to find a way to accommodate that time in my schedule, without getting too behind at work and in my business. My husband is very supportive so we will find a way to work this out as we go. The most exciting thing about my plan is toward the end of that plan, I will be doing some volunteer work under a research facility to see how they put together research data and how they conduct their research.
Jacquelyn Henry:
My ideal job upon graduating from the doctoral program is to work in the student services department in either the district I am currently working at or for a different district. The intention behind working in the student service department is to help create systematic change. It is difficult to facilitate change in the district while working at the site level because we are often not heard. The change that I would like to see in the school setting is more support for mental health services for students such as clinicians being available, and resources for school counselors to provide services with fidelity and validity (Sherr
