On Geogebra make a polygon and create a line that does not

On Geogebra make a polygon and create a line that does not go through the polygon. Take a screenshot and post it here.

Now go down to transformations and click on “Reflect about a line”.  You will then click on the polygon for the object and the line.  Take a screenshot and post it here.

Move the line around.  Move the original polygon around.  Write down 2 things you notice and 1 thing you wonder about reflections.

Click on the Segment tool under Basic Tools.

Connect a line segment between the corresponding points for the original and reflected shape.  Take a screenshot and post it here/

What do you notice about the line segments?

On Geogebra make a polygon and a point outside the polygon. Take a screenshot  and post it here.

Now go down to transformations under the “more” menu. Click on Dilation from a point. Click on your polygon for the object, then your point outside the polygon, and choose a scale factor.  Take a screenshot and post it here.

Write down 3 things that you notice and 2 things you wonder about what the dilation does to the polygon.

Now add lines that go through the center point and a point on the polygon.  Add a different line for each point.  Take a screenshot and post it here.

Now do another dilation (Pick a different number than 2 or 3 since that was used in the video).  Take a screenshot and post it here.

Write down 2 things you notice  and 1 thing you wonder about dilations.

Now explore with differ scale factors.  Pick a negative number.   What do you notice?

Now pick a decimal number between 0 and 1.  What do you notice?
