Activity 6: Homeland Security: Community Policing or Military-Style Policing? (100 points)
After you have read Chapters 14, 15, and 16, and the outside assigned readings, locate five (5) additional journal articles that have been published within the last five calendar years. Locate articles that discuss the pros and cons of community policing and military-style policing as those both pertain to homeland security. (Most experts agree community policing works well in other areas.) Support your argument with examples. Take notes from your review, and from those notes develop a position paper that supports either community policing or militarizing of the police when homeland security issues are at stake. Make certain to justify your position with facts and references from your article review notes. Make certain too that you cite the five (5) articles in the paper and include them in your bibliography.
Your Activity responses should be both grammatically and mechanically correct, and formatted in the same fashion as the Activity itself. If there is a Part A, your response should identify a Part A, etc. In addition, you must appropriately cite all resources used in your response and document in a bibliography using APA style. (100 points) (A 4-page response is required.)
