The characteristics shared by the Jim twins are quiet surprising and awesome. Both of their first wives were named Linda and their 2nd wives named Betty. They both were woodworkers, and had worked as deputy sheriffs. My belief is that genes and heredity play a big role in someone’s characteristics and their personality. For example, when one has more sociable parents it makes sense that they are more likely to be outgoing and friendly. Yet, I believe its a combination of nature and nurture. those that grow up in the same home seem to be likely to share mannerisms just from being around each other.
I believe that the fact that the Jim twins both chose the same careers (woodworking and deputy sheriffs) provides the strongest evidence that heredity is more important than environment. The twins did not grow up in the same home and only met when they were 39 years old! it seems only possible for it to be in their genes to appreciate the same things and to choose the line of work that they chose. The characteristic it takes to be a deputy sheriff is leadership, taking action, responsibility, and care for the bigger community. these all can come from environment, but the Jim twins did not grow up together and seem to only be explained as heredity.
