Find a recent article (six months old or less), from a reputable business source, i.e. Wall Street Journal, Forbes, Fortune, Businessweek, that discusses a specific company’s finances. For example, publicly traded companies have to report their numbers every quarter. How is the company doing overall? Which way is their revenue (sales) and profit trending? What factors may be considered in changes to their financials? The COVID-19 crisis is an easy one in this time, but many other factors can impact a company’s financial situation. For example, new competition, exiting competition, new products, or services (or lack thereof), consumer preferences and tastes, extreme weather, buyouts or mergers, too much debt, etc.
