Initial PostCome up with a question that illustrates how gender, age, ethnicity, race, locale, or socioeconomic status is relevant to pathophysiology. Post the question to the discussion board and identify which variable you are addressing.
Be sure you know the answer to your question—or at least are prepared to respond knowledgeably when a classmate answers the question.
For example, say you posted the following question:
Why do African-Americans have a higher incidence of stroke? (Race)
You would want to have an idea of the answer so when a classmate replies, you can discuss how African-Americans are more prone to stroke because of their higher incidence of hypertension, caused by their decrease in renin.
